Names of the Dead

Names of the Dead

I'm not sure if this is a daily link/page in the NY Times, but it makes everything extremely real. People are dying in the middle east every day, and it genuinely pisses me off. The men listed in this article are extremely young, never even made it to 30.

I occassionaly have the urge to ask individuals in the military what inclined them to join.
I feel from things I've read and seen, some individuals join because that is the only way they see to improve their lives and their future. Others, because it is a cause they belive in and are willing to sacrifice their lives. When I say their lives, I don't mean the actuality of living, but their family, home life, and comfortablity of everything they know.

Don't get me wrong. I really appreciate the women and men in the military, but the sting in my heart I feel when seeing names of dead soldiers, really hits home.
